How to determine the right and true wisdom?
Wisdom can be great words and speeches that influence anyone’s thoughts and actions. They can be our knowledge and guides that shape-up our lives. We admire wisdom. We desire to have wisdom. However, not all wisdoms are right and true. Moreover, not all wisdom can lead us to salvation and eternal life – some of them can escort us down to hell. Thus, we need to determine which wisdom comes from God and which one comes from evil. Now, let’s find out the answer of that question in the Holy Scriptures. The following passages describe two kinds of wisdom that will guide us in knowing what the right is and false wisdom:
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
