How to heal your sickness?
Call for help to the Lord.
Psalm 30:2 (NIV)
O LORD my God, I called to you for help
and you healed me.
Receive and accept His words. In the old days, these Words are sent directly by God, or by His messengers, or by the prophets, by the Son of God, and or by the Apostles. Nowadays, these words are written and can be read in the Holy Scriptures.
Psalm 107:20 (NIV)
He sent forth his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave.
Call the elders of the Church to pray over you faithfully in the name of the Lord. In the Holy Scriptures, Church means not the church or a temple built by the hands of men. Church is the body of Christ – an assembly of persons who are baptized by Christ in the Spirit. The elder should be a person who is matured in Christ and in the Words and spirit of God. He must be faithful, not only by name but also by works.
James 5:14-15 (NIV)
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
Ephesians 5:23 (NIV)
For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other because this is how righteousness works.
James 5:16 (NIV)
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Forgive the ones who have sinned against you, so that the Lord God may also forgive you.
Mark 11:25 (NIV)
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Romans 12:12 (NIV)
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Worship our Almighty God.
Exodus 23:25 (NIV)
Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you,
God sometimes wound us to warn or remind us. However we must not despise His corrections – He corrects us because He loves us.
Proverbs 3:11-12 (NIV)
My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline
and do not resent his rebuke,
because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.
Listen carefully to the voice of the Lord and pay attention to His commandments. The Lord’s words, teachings, instructions and commandments are written in the Holy Scriptures – we must read and understand it. We can have wisdom by having fear on the Lord, while we can get understanding by consistently obeying His commandments.
Exodus 15:26 (NIV)
He said, “If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.”
Ask for God’s Mercy. Be merciful also – because God gives mercy to the ones who are merciful.
Psalm 41:3-4 (NKJV)
The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed. I said, “LORD, be merciful to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.
Matthew 5:7 (NIV)
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Cheer up your heart.
Proverbs 17:22 (NIV)
A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Speak wise and gently.
Proverbs 16:24 (NIV)
Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Proverbs 12:18 (NIV)
Reckless words pierce like a sword,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 14:30 (NIV)
A heart at peace gives life to the body,
but envy rots the bones.
Remove your wickedness and iniquities
Psalm 31:10 (NKJV)
For my life is spent with grief, And my years with sighing; My strength fails because of my iniquity, And my bones waste away.
Remember that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. So preserve it and do not hurt it. Eat nutritious foods and drinks that are good for the body. Avoid gluttony, drunkenness, sexual immorality and too many pleasures which weaken our body. Strengthen your body through proper exercise. Give your body the rest it needs. Take care and monitor it through medical checkups and proper medications with the guide of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 6:19 (NKJV)
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
