Is Christ’s second coming true?
As true Christians, we must know Christ fully. We must know everything in Him that is written. What is true is that Christ will return again on Earth to restore everything and fulfill the prophecies of the holy prophets.
Matthew 24:30-31 (NIV)
“At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Matthew 25:31 (NIV)
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
Acts 3:21 (NIV)
He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.
However, what is not true is the conception that Jesus Christ will come on Earth for the second time or what is popularly known as the “second coming.”
Before Christ came on Earth as a human, He has already come on Earth from Heaven in the form of a spiritual rock who accompanied Moses and the early Jews.
1 Corinthians 10:1-5(NIV)
For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered over the desert.
Christ, as the Son of God, has already gone up to Heaven and came down to Earth not only once.
Proverbs 30:4 (NIV)
Who has gone up to heaven and come down?
Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands?
Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is his name, and the name of his son?
Tell me if you know!
The Spirit of Christ has been with the prophets to guide them in their predictions of the sufferings of Christ and the glories that will follow.
1 Peter 1:10-11 (NIV)
Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.
Therefore, In Biblical speaking, the return of Jesus Christ on Earth will not already be His second coming. Christ has been with the people on Earth, ascending and descending from Heaven to Earth, lovingly and diligently working for us – for our salvation, for the Glory of our Almighty Father.
